Per gli scrittori, c’è molta vita oltre i libri. Infatti, nel 2016 sono nati ben 8.350 nuovi programmi televisivi, che richiamano dall’editoria una gran massa di scrittori, per trame, sceneggiature e dialoghi.
Nel 2016 sono nati 8.350 programmi inediti, così come li ha recensiti nel mondo Eurodata (società specializzata in rilevazioni dati del gruppo Médiamétrie).
Di questi 8.350, nonostante il mix di temi e generi, ben più di 4.000 sono nuovi format. Del resto, scrive Eurodata, «non c’è altra scelta che innovare e i contenuti sono diventati la chiave di volta per attrarre audience», specialmente «dopo che il digitale ha rivoluzionato il settore, le barriere territoriali sono cadute e l’espansione massiccia di Netflix o Amazon accelera la concorrenza del mercato».
Le serie tv sono la nuova frontiera che ha richiamato tanti talenti e tanti investimenti, garantiti dalla pubblicità. Ed è la pubblicità è parola chiave del boom delle serie televisive, perché offre guadagni alti, con un ciclo finanziario più rapido di quello cinematografico. Così è montato un flusso di soldi e soldoni che ha attirato attori famosi, sceneggiatori e registi che fino a pochi anni or sono snobbavano le tv.
E’ di ieri la notizia che la Paramount ha concluso un accordo da un miliardo di dollari con due gruppi cinesi, la Shanghai Film Group e l’Huahua Media, che è un gruppo integrato di marketing, distribuzione e produzione di film, riprova che il mercato tira, con grandi margini di ulteriori sviluppi, tra nuovi canali e mercati emergenti.
Nuove idee e nuovi autori al centro del boom
Naturalmente, bravi attori e registi fanno la differenza, ma contano meno di autori e sceneggiatori. Il segreto del successo? A differenza della scrittura di romanzi, dove l’autore è solitamente solo, per le serie tv funziona il lavoro di gruppo, dove più autori lavorano allo stesso soggetto, ma ognuno sviluppa solo una parte dei personaggi, quelli a lui/lei più affini. In questo modo non occorre sdoppiarsi e triplicarsi, ma si procede velocemente, con maggiore qualità di azione e dialoghi.
